Doctor Angeles Belém Priego Sánchez is currently a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Azcapotzalco Campus. She completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. studies in Computer Science at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), from 2005 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2012, respectively. She obtained a Ph.D. in Language Sciences at the University Paris 13, Sorbonne Paris Cité, France (2013-2016).
She has the appointment of National Researcher granted by the National System of Researchers through the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). She belongs to the Thematic Network of Language Technologies of CONACYT, is a member of the Mexican Academy of Computing, the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence, and the actions of the European Cooperation and Science and Technology (COST), a funding organization for research and innovation networks. In addition, he is part of the membership committee of the Mexican Association for Natural Language Processing.
Her main area of research is the interaction between computers and human language, focusing on computational linguistics, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence, specifically in phraseology and sentiment analysis. She is the author and co-author of more than 30 publications, including book chapters and articles in national and international indexed journals. She has given more than 40 conferences in specialized national and international events. She has also organized more than ten academic congresses and symposia and has supervised, in the last two years, about ten bachelor's and one master's thesis.
