Professor Francisco Pérez Cortés studied Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature; Economics at the Faculty of Economics at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and Linguistics at the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH). He obtained Master's and Doctorate degrees from the École Normale Supérieure, Paris, France.

Since 1978 he has been a Professor at the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design at the Universidad Atónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus.

He teaches courses at the undergraduate level of Development of graphic communication. Module X, XII and XII Design and editorial production, postgraduate: Socio-cultural processes and design practices in the Master of Science and Arts for Design, Research and Development (critical theory and history) in the Doctorate in Science and Arts for Design

He is currently working on the publication of the book Creative Time. The creative constructing its Temporalities, which is part of a trilogy, composed of The Creative Act: Roots of creative action (2016) and Create, create, engender and give life to a living work (2015)
