Professor Jesús Carlos Morales Guzmán holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), Mexico City, and is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus. He has been a visiting researcher at the Iberoamerican Institute of the University of Salamanca and the Institute of Regional and Metropolitan Studies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Currently, he is a member of the academic committee of the Master in Metropolitan Planning and Policies, a member of the line society and territory of the Doctorate in Sociology of the same university, and a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) Level I. He has worked on studying urban policies and planning, public space and participation in the periphery of cities, as well as the effects that urban and road infrastructure megaprojects generate on the population.
