Profile
Professor José Alejandro Reyes Ortiz graduated as a Computer Systems Engineer in 2006 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Colima, Mexico. He obtained his Master's degree in Computer Science in 2008 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2013, both from the National Center for Research and Technological Development (CENIDET) in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Currently, he is a Professor in the Systems Department of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, Azcapotzalco, Mexico. He obtained the Teaching Award by the Azcapotzalco Campus in 2018 and is a member of the National System of Researchers by CONACyT, Mexico.
His research areas are Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computational Linguistics, Pattern Recognition, Information Extraction, Text Mining, Event Detection, and Ontology Engineering. Finally, Dr. José Alejandro Reyes Ortiz was elected Head of the Systems Department for the period from 2020 to 2024.
