Profile

Professor Lázaro Raymundo Reyes Gutiérrez studied his Ph.D. in Earth Sciences with a specialty in Groundwater (2007). His thesis work was entitled "Analysis of an aquifer remediation system by pump and treat in Buenavista, Guanajuato". UACPyP-CCH, Institute of Geophysics, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). His Master's degree was in Geophysics with a specialty in Groundwater with the thesis "Factors controlling the dispersion of chromium compounds in an aquifer of variable hydraulic conductivity", from the same institution (1998). He studied for his bachelor's degree in Geophysical Engineering (1989) at the Escuela Superior en Ciencias de la Tierra, ESIA - Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). His thesis work was entitled "Geophysical study of the distribution of cavities in the area of Real del Monte, Hidalgo, Mexico".

He did a Specialty in Hydrogeology at the Institute of Hydraulics, Politecnico di Milano, ITALY, (1991). His thesis was "Simulation of contamination events of the Buenavista aquifer, Leon, Gto". He has also completed two post-doctorates. In the first one he worked in Applied Geosciences at the Instituto Potosino de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (IPICYT) in San Luis Potosí (2009). Thesis "Application of magnetic and electrical methods to search for groundwater". The second postdoc was in Mathematics (Numerical Modeling), (2012) and worked on the thesis "Optimizing the spatial distribution of the environmental network of the Toluca Valley through numerical modeling to assess air quality". He was in the Mathematics Department of the Cinvestav - IPN Research Center, with Dr. Jaime Lázaro Klapp Escribano (ININ) and Dr. Isidoro Gitler (CINVESTAV) as advisors.
