Profile
Professor Roberto Carlos Lazzarini Lechuga studied his undergraduate degree in Experimental Biology at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. He received his Master's degree in Experimental Biology from the same institution. Ph.D. in Biological and Health Sciences at the Xochimilco Campus of the UAM.
He is a two-time winner of the UAM Research Award. He is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level I. He is also a member of the Mexican Society of Anatomy A.C. and the Mexican Society of Developmental Biology.
His area of research is in Developmental Biology, Cardiogenesis, Cancer, and tumor development. He has published 14 research articles in international journals. In cardiogenesis, he has proposed a new model of cardiac development (2018). In the area of cancer and tumor development, he proposed a novel model of tumor xenotransplantation in chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane for the study of drugs and therapeutic targets against human cancer cells (2015- 2019).
He is a member of the Divisional Commission of Microscopy of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences (2013-present) and is a member of the Divisional Commission for the Adequacy of the UEA Integral Laboratory (2020).
