Profile

Professor Perla López is a Pharmacobiological Chemist graduated from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. She has a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Sciences with a specialty in Pharmacobiology, both from the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional.

She is currently a professor attached to the Department of Natural Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Cuajimalpa Campus. She has the Recognition of Desirable Profile, granted by the Ministry of Public Education.

Her research is related to obtaining molecules from natural products and chemical synthesis, their identification, and chemical characterization, as well as the in vitro and in vivo evaluation of the pharmacological activity of diverse molecules. She has participated in tutorial committees of graduate students and directed research projects at the undergraduate level. She has led research projects and book chapters.

In the educational field, she participates as a professor in the undergraduate program in Molecular Biology and the graduate program in Natural Sciences and Engineering at UAM Cuajimalpa Campus.
