Profile
Professor Alejandro Rodea Chávez holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Design with orientation in Ergonomics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He completed a High Level Technical Stay in Japan on Product Design, sponsored by the CONACYT-JICA Exchange Program. He was a bi-annual scholarship holder for participating in the Research Project Macroergonomic Risk Factors Associated to Work in Pregnant Women in the PAPIIT project of the UNAM. He was certified Level I in Anthropometry by the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry.
He is Professor, Tutor, and Thesis Co-Tutor of the Master's program in Industrial Design, UNAM. He has taught in the Master in Architecture, Bioclimatism, and Industrial Design at the Universidad Cristóbal Colón, as well as in the Bachelor in Industrial Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana, teaching various subjects related to Design Projects, Design and Sustainability, Ergonomics, Transformation Technologies, and New Technologies.
He has presented several lectures and presentations in Mexico, Italy, Poland, USA, Canada, Cuba, Colombia, and Brazil. He has several publications on Ergonomics and sustainability issues in scientific journals, and is co-author of the books Design and Ergonomics for Special Populations and Perspectives on User Experience.
He has participated as a PRODEP Desirable Profile Reviewer, as well as research articles for publication in national and international indexed journals.
Member of the Academic Group "Systemic Design. Ergonomics and Sustainability". He is a Professor Level A of the Department of Theory and Processes of Design, Division of Communication Sciences and Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Cuajimalpa Campus, and has PROMEP Desirable Profile Recognition.
As a Research Professor at UAM, he has taught subjects on ergonomics, materials and processes, models, Design Management, and Design Laboratories and has participated in the research projects "Sustainability and Circularity- Challenges and Opportunities for the forestry sector in the Face of climate change (FORSCIRC)"; "Brain-computer interfaces with perspectives to their application in domestic service robots"; "Development of interactive systems for the census of air quality in confined spaces"; "Design of habitats for urban pollinator species under climatic, productive and social conditions in Mexico" and "The development of models as didactics of Design".
