Professor Salvador Ulises Islas Barajas was born in November 1972. He holds a degree in Architecture from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus. He is a Specialist in Bioclimatic Architecture from the same institution. He holds a Master's Degree in Architectural Design from the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus. He has a Diploma in Lighting Design from the Universidad Iberoaméricana and another Diploma in Intelligent and Sustainable Buildings, Mexican Institute of Intelligent Building Mexico.

His area of work addresses the following disciplines: Bioclimatic Architecture; Lighting Design; Line of generation and application of knowledge, lighting, and acoustic comfort; Sustainability applied to bioclimatic design.

As part of the research program based in the Bioclimatic Architecture Research Area called Design, Lighting Comfort and Regulations in buildings, responsible for the research projects: "Analysis and characterization of lighting quality factors and energy efficiency of the artificial lighting laboratory of the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana; and "Design of high efficiency and comfort lighting for offices of the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana".
