Professor Ana Ruth Quiroz Ibarra has a degree in Territorial Planning from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), a master's degree in Science and Arts for Design in the area of Sustainability from the same university, and a research stay at the UNESCO Chair of Sustainability at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

She is an associate professor in the Department of Theory and Analysis at UAM Xochimilco Campus. She has participated in several sponsored research projects in the area of territorial processes and structures.

Member of RESURBE-RECNET (Recyclying the City Network), which is an interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral program in collaboration with more than 60 organizations around the world that promote research on issues of urban development, public policies, urban resilience, climate change adaptation, and mitigation.

She has participated in the management and development of urban-architectural projects of the participatory budget program in housing units of the municipality of Tlalpan, and has served as a consultant on issues of environmental sustainability, landscape analysis, and urban planning. She is a specialist member of the mixed commission of urban furniture 2022, for the Secretary of Urban Development and Housing of the CDMX.
