Professor Ricardo Padilla Hermida, born in 1951, studied a degree in Economics from the Universidad Veracruzana, a Master's degree in Economics from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). His research topics are mainly related to the informal economy, applied econometrics, and economic growth.

He has various teacher training courses, some by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, such as planning workshops and comprehensive class design, development of learning evaluation instruments, production of educational multimedia material with flash level one, and an introductory course for design of didactic material with PowerPoint; groundwater, environment and hydrological basin interaction course by the UNAM-Semartnat Geography Institute; and the course of credit risk: measurement, evaluation, and control by the Center for Economic and Statistical Research of Milan.

He has teaching experience at UAM in bachelor's and master's degrees. He has written several book chapters, as well as translated others. He has advised 51 final investigations in bachelor's degrees and two in master's degrees; He has been a member, on two occasions, of Academic Commissions to award the best final research, one for a bachelor's degree and the other for a master's degree.
