Profile

Professor Julián Alberto Fresán Figueroa was born in Mexico City in June 1988. He did his undergraduate studies in Applied Mathematics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Cuajimalpa Campus, Master´s of Science (Mathematics) at the Iztapalapa Campus of the UAM, and Ph.D. in Science (Mathematics) at the same Campus.

Since April 2013, he has been a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems at Cuajimalpa Campus, where he has taught courses for the Applied Mathematics and Computer Engineering degrees.

He is currently Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Systems, for the period 2019-2023. He belongs to the National System of Researchers, Candidate Level. His research area is Graph Theory, particularly topics related to book embeddings, colorings, Moore's graphs and tree graphs. He is dabbling in applied research close to his topics.

He is a member of the graph theory and computational theory faculty and is a member of two research projects, one on graph theory and the other on teaching. He is very passionate about the dissemination of mathematics and annually participates in various outreach events.
