Professor Brenda García Parra holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Design from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design from the Iberoamericana University. In 2007 she was a fellow of the CONACYT- JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) program of Technical Stays in Industrial Design in Kyoto, Japan.

Since 2010 she has been a professor and researcher at the Department of Theory and Processes of Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Cuajimalpa Campus, where she has taught several subjects of the Bachelor's Degree in Design, particularly those related to the design processes of Design and Sustainability. She has advised several Bachelor's degree final projects and more than 20 Master's theses.

Her research interests include Ecodesign, Sustainable Design, and Sustainable Service-Product Systems Design. She has authored, co-authored, or edited several articles, book chapters, and books related to Design for Sustainability and has participated as a reviewer in indexed journals and research projects at the Guwahati Institute of Technology, India.

Professor García has served as coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Design and currently participates as co-coordinator of the LeNS Mexico network (Learning Network for Sustainability) and coordinator of the LeNS Laboratory at UAM Cuajimalpa Campus.
