Doctor Marcela Burgos Vargas Vargases is a Professor of the General Trunk of the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design, in the subjects of Basic Language and Design Systems, Infography and Collaborative Workshop of the Graduate Degree in Information Visualization, where she applies strategies of observation, collection, recording, and analysis of data, with the purpose of converting the experience of daily interaction with students in the classroom, in exercises of teaching-learning design.

She studied Graphic Communication Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) (1982-1986) and obtained her Master's Degree in Integral Advertising from the Universidad del Tepeyac (2005). Her Ph.D. in New Technologies was completed at the UAM, Azcapotzalco Campus(2013).

From 2014 to date she has been a Professor and Doctoral Thesis Advisor of the Postgraduate in Information Visualization at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. Member of the Color Research Group in the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design at the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus. Since 2010, she has bees a Professor of the Department of Environment for Design in the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus. From 2005 to 2010, she was a postgraduate professor in the virtual modality with the Dokeos 2.1 platform, at the International Center for Prospective and Advanced Studies (CIPAE), an institution focused on the design and production of educational strategies and methodologies. From 2000 to 2009 she was Professor of Graphic Design at the Universidad del Tepeyac.

Since 1992 she has been a freelance Art Director in several private companies and advertising agencies.
