Profile

Professor Wesley Marshall holds a B.A. in political science from the College of William and Mary. He received his Ph.D. in Latin American Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Faculty of Economics at UNAM.

Since 2009, he has been a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztpalapa Campus, where he is currently in charge of the Center for North American Financial and Economic Studies and Head of the Political Economy Area. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (Level II) and also of the Mexican Academy of Political Economy. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Ola Financiera and the journal Review of Political Economy. He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Political Economy.

Dr. Wesley has participated in several national and international conferences, and has articles published in specialized journals and collective books. He is the author of the book México desbancado: causas y consecuencias de la pérdida de la banca nacional.
