Profile
Professor Roxana López Simeon is a Biologist from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus, where she also completed her Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Doctorate in Biotechnology from UAM Iztapalapa Campus.
She has worked on various projects in microbial ecology, fish pathology, extraction of antibacterial compounds, extraction and characterization of biopolymers, as well as the characterization of metal-organic frameworks. She is currently working on manufacturing structured biomaterials with hexagonal ordering and on the integral utilization of phycological resources, for example Sargassum.
She has published in national and international indexed journals and has participated in writing book chapters and in various scientific events.
