Professor Fernando del Rio Haza is a full-time Professor assigned to the Department of Physics of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus.

He is a Pysicist by the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM, 1963), and Ph. D. by the University of California in Berkeley (1969). He is an emeritus and distinguished Professor by the UAM, National Science Prize (2015).
