Professor Gabriel Ramos holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature from El Colegio de México. He is a Professor in the Department of Humanities at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus and a member of the SNI, level 1.

His lines of research and interest include Mexican and Latin American poetry, contemporary poetry, surrealism, lyric theory, poetry, and politics. He teaches courses on Mexican poetry and lyric theory in the Master's Degree in Contemporary Mexican Literature and in the Specialization in 20th Century Mexican Literature, which he coordinated from 2016 to 2020.

He has published articles on Renaissance lyric, surrealism in Chile, Borges, López Velarde, Gil de Biedma, César Moro and Paz. He is the author of La experiencia surrealista en la poesía hispanoamericana: una marea verbal resplandeciente (UAM, 2020) and Música de transfiguración (UAM, 2019).

He is currently developing the projects "Poesía de pensamiento en México: Contemporáneos, poesía filosófica y crítica" (1136) and "La poesía mexicana e hispanoamericana entre el surrealismo y la forma libre" (1137).
