Doctor Ludger Brenner is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Professor of Human Geography at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus in Mexico City. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Trier/Germany.
He has been a member of the National System of Researchers since 2000 (level II since 2016) and has the Recognition to Desirable Profile by the Ministry of Public Education since 2010. His research interests include the geography of tourism, environmental governance, and the challenges facing the management of Natural Protected Areas. Professor Brenner has directed numerous theses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has been responsible for research projects sponsored by various Mexican and foreign institutions. He has published some 70 papers in the form of articles in indexed journals, books, book chapters, and technical reports at the national and international levels.
