Profile
Dr. Ludger Brenner is a professor in the Department of Sociology and a professor in the Bachelor’s program in Human Geography at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus, located in Mexico City. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Trier, Germany, and has been a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII) since 2000, currently at Level III.
In 2023, he was awarded the National Tourism Research Prize. His research interests include the geography of tourism, environmental governance, and the challenges facing the management of Protected Natural Areas. Dr. Brenner has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate theses and has led research projects funded by various Mexican and international institutions. He has published approximately 80 works, including articles in national and international indexed journals (Web of Science and Scopus), books, book chapters, and technical reports.
