Profile

Professor Carlos Enrique Hernández García holds a degree in Visual Arts from the National School of Plastic Arts of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (ENAP-UNAM) and is a Master's Candidate of the postgraduate course in Visual Arts with sculpture orientation at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM, where he also served as an adjunct professor of the Wax Modeling Workshop for Foundry in charge of Dr. in BB. AA. Alfia Leiva del Valle in the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at ENAP - UNAM from August 1996 to July 2006.

He is a Professor at the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (CyAD-UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus in Mexico City from 2007 to date.

He developed the graduate thesis research project: "Didactic proposal to address the sculpture contents of the Visual Arts program of the Reform to secondary education 2006" from 2008 to 2012. Served as head of the Teaching Collective of Theory and History of Design of the Department of Research and Knowledge of Design of CyAD UAM Azcapotzalco Campus from September 2010 to March 2011. He held the position of Social Service Coordinator of CyAD UAM Azcapotzalco Campus from March 2011 to December 2013.

He has been responsible for four Social Service projects and has served as UAM advisor from CyAD in at least 12 other external projects where he has supported 85 social service providers from 2011 to date.

He completed a specialty in ceramics at the School of Crafts of the National Institute of Fine Arts (EDA-INBA) from August 2014 to June 2015 and later studied the career of Craft Technician in ceramics by the (EDA-INBA) from August 2015 to June 2018.

He is currently developing plastic work and two research projects at CyAD in the Azcapotzalco Campus on ceramics and color in stone materials since 2013. He is the Coordinator of the industrial design workshops of Finishes, Ceramics, and Glass at CyAD Azcapotzalco Campus since September 2019.

He has exhibited his work in five solo shows and more than 54 group exhibitions in Mexico and the United States from 1996 to date.

To date he has three research projects:

a) "Didactic proposal to address the sculpture contents of the Visual Arts program of the Reform to secondary education 2006" postgraduate thesis in Visual Arts with orientation in sculpture. 100% completed project.

b) "Research, analysis and ceramic experimentation of techniques, materials and new plastic and CAD-CAM technologies applied to design. With an advance of 70%.

c) "Color in stone materials". With an advance of 45%.
