Profile
Professor Ulises Durán Hinojosa is a graduate of Industrial Biochemical Engineering, as well as a Master's and Ph.D. in Biotechnology, from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. Postdoctoral researcher abroad at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and Associate Researcher C at the Institute of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) for eight years. He is a member of SNI as a National Researcher level I.
Professor Durán has expertise in applying metabolic evaluation techniques and advanced molecular biology techniques for the integral monitoring of biological processes of wastewater and sludge treatment. He has published about 20 scientific articles, conference proceedings in extenso, and book chapters. He has supervised 11 thesis students: one at the Ph.D. level, four at the Master's level, one at the Specialization level, and four at Bachelor's level. Responsible for 4 research projects sponsored by CONACyT, UNAM and Secretaría de Energía. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
