Professor Bernardo Bolaños Guerra is a Professor and Researcher at the Department of Humanities of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Cuajimalpa Campus, in Mexico City. He received his law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), his Master's degree in History and Philosophy of Science from the UNAM and the University of Paris 1, and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Paris 1.
He did a postdoctorate in Political Philosophy at the University of Paris 1. He teaches Philosophy in the Bachelor's Degree in Humanities and Environmental Law and Philosophy of Law in the Bachelor's Degree in Law. He has published the following books: "El derecho a la educación" (ANUIES, 1996), "Argumentación científica y objetividad" (UNAM, 2002), "Introducción al pensamiento de Blas Pascal" (UAM, 2009) and "Esclavos, migrantes y narcos. Acontecimiento y biopolítica en América del Norte" (UAM-Juan Pablos, 2013). He coordinated the anthology "Biopolítica y migración. El eslabón perdido de la globalización" (UAM, 2015).
He was a visiting professor at the University of Toronto between 2022 and 2023. His current lines of research are the rights of migrants expelled for environmental causes, environmental ethics, and Mexican environmental law. He coordinates a doctoral seminar on social sciences and philosophy with professors Maximiliano Martínez and Jorge Galindo.
