Since 2009, he has focused on sustainable transitions using foresight and futures studies methodologies. As a member of the UNESCO-UAM Chair in Futures Studies, he currently promotes workshops to strengthen futures literacy among diverse social actors, applying a “grassroots foresight” approach.

His courses address topics such as Institutional Economics, Technological Change Management, Innovation Networks, Creativity, and Foresight. In these programs, he has supervised numerous final projects, research reports, and doctoral theses in his areas of expertise.
Some of his recent publications include: Anticipating Zero Plastics Futures in Urban Contexts in Mexico (2025), a chapter in the book Cities as Anticipatory Systems (Springer); and the article “Análisis metodológico de los estudios prospectivos que exploran el futuro de la bioeconomía,” published in Nova Scientia (2021).
