In this field, she recovers analytical frameworks of authors such as Georg Simmel, Norbert Elias, Erving Goffman, Pierre Bourdieu, Howard Becker, and Bruno Latour to establish different analytical levels on the relationships between humans and non-humans. More specifically, the exchange of affects and bodily experiences. Secondly, she specializes in sensory studies and the sociology of emotions in particular areas such as estrangement and the construction of the other, embodied love, and sensory memories in cities. She has published several articles, book chapters, and books related to these topics.
She is responsible for the project: Scopes, perspectives, and challenges of Georg Simmel's sociological theory. A contemporary review. She is also responsible, together with Adriana García and Priscila Cedillo, for the project Body and affectivity in contemporary society since 2009.
She is the author of the book El cuerpo como recurso de sentido en la construcción del extraño. Una perspectiva sociológica, (Editorial Séquitur, 2012). Together with Adriana García, she coordinated the book Cuerpo y afectividad en la sociedad contemporánea. Algunas rutas del amor y la experiencia sensible en ciencias sociales (Azcapotzalco Campus de la UAM, 2014). She is the coordinator of the book Los sentidos del cuerpo. Un giro sensorial en la investigación social y los estudios de género. (Centro de Investigaciones de Estudios de Género, UNAM, 2019).
She is part of the Editorial Board of Simmel Studies, the Scientific Committee of Sociological Studies (COLMEX), Debate Feminista, Digithum, among other journals.
