Profile

Professor Deyanira Bedolla Pereda was born in Mexico City; she holds a Ph.D. in Technological Innovation Projects from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain, a Master in Design and Bionics from the European Institute of Design in Milan, Italy and a Bachelor in Industrial Design from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). Ph.D. "Excellent Cum Laude" from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

She is a full-time Professor and Researcher at the UAM Cuajimalpa Campus within the Department of Theory and Processes of Design in the Division of Communication Sciences and Design (DCCD).
She has worked at the Ecological Park of Xochimilco and the Research Center of the European Institute of Design in Milan, Italy.

Her main research area has been, since 2001, the study of Human Affectivity and its relationship with design. She is currently working in the Social Design and Behavior Change line based on affectivity.

She has published papers in different events and media at national and international levels, such as in Journals of the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) Mexico and the Resource Center on Perception and Sensory Sciences (PERCEPNET) of the Spanish Society of Sensory Sciences (SECS).

She published, in 2018, the book of her authorship, "Emociones y Diseño" Designio Editorial, as well as group books of the Academic Network of Design and Emotions (RADE) with publishers of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in the Faculty of Architecture and the UAM Cuajimalpa Campus, she has individual and group publications in indexed journals nationally and internationally.

Professor Bedolla is currently in charge of the "Red académica de diseño y emociones" (RADE), whose creation she promoted, formed by Spanish-speaking researchers at an international level. RADE is integrated by researchers from Latin America who are working on design and emotions in different regions of the world, such as Mexico, the United States, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, New Zealand, Finland, and Japan.

The presence of the topic Design and Emotions jointly and formally in Latin America is materialized with the integration of the Academic Network of Design and Emotions (RADE) in 2014 from the UAM Cuajimalpa Campus in Mexico City. RADE has had, from the beginning, a multidisciplinary approach thanks to the different origins of the branches of design from which each member comes. It has a permanent biannual seminar from which several joint publications have emerged, materialized in books and special issues published in indexed journals.s joint publications materialized in books and special numbers published with indexed journals have emerged.
