Profile
Professor Jose Javier Valencia Lopez studied Industrial Chemical Engineering at the Instituto Tecnologico de Celaya, Master of Science at the Instituto Tecnologico de Celaya, and a Ph.D. at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus.
He was a Researcher in the Research and Development Program in Mayan Crude Oil Treatment at the Mexican Petroleum Institute. At the Electrical Research Institute (1994-1996), he worked as a Researcher in the Simulation Department on the following projects: "Updating of the Simulator for Training of the Laguna Verde Core Power Plant" and "Advanced Real-Time Simulation Techniques."
He worked as a Professor in the Basic Sciences Department at the Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya (1991-1993). He joined UAM Cuajimalpa Campus in 2005.
He has received several distinctions, among which are the University Merit Medal awarded by the UAM Iztapalapa Campus for obtaining the best grades in the Doctorate in Science curriculum. Best Graduate Thesis in Engineering, for the thesis "Modelamiento de Flujo Convectivo en Almacenamiento de Granos Alimenticios," awarded by the Academia Nacional de Ingeniería. First Place in the National Thesis Contest for the thesis "Analysis and Linearization of Flow Networks." Awarded by Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE)-CONACyT-Instituto de Investigaciones Eléctricas (IIE).
His publications are in the Journal of Porous Media and the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer.
