Profile
Doctor Sylvie Le Borgne is a National Researcher Level II of the National System of Researchers. In 1994, she obtained her Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Microbiology from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse, France. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemical, Food, and Microbial Genetics Engineering, also from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse, France (1991).
She conducted a postdoctoral stay at the Biotechnology Institute of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in the laboratory of Doctors Fernando Valle and Francisco Bolívar (1994-1997). She worked as an Associate Researcher with Dr. Agustín López Munguía at the same Biotechnology Institute (1997-1999). From 1999 to 2005, she was a Researcher in the Biotechnology Program at the Mexican Petroleum Institute. Since 2005, she has been a Research Professor in the Department of Processes and Technology at the Cuajimalpa campus of UAM. She is a founding professor of the Cuajimalpa campus.
She received the Carlos Casas Campillo 2004 Award from the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, awarded to young professionals under 35 for their contribution to the development of Biotechnology or Bioengineering in Mexico.
