Profile
Professor Francisco José Valdés Parada received his Bachelor´s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Veracruzana and his Master´s. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. He has two post-doctorate degrees, one from UAM Unidad Iztapalapa and the other from Oregon State University.
He has been a Visiting Professor at the École Centrale de Paris, at the University of Bordeaux, and at the University of Genoa. His line of work is transport phenomena, both in teaching and research. Specifically, he is interested in developing mathematical models describing transport in multiscale systems. In this way, he has studied various problems involving typical energy and chemical engineering systems and biological and environmental systems. For Professor Valdés, it is fascinating to mathematically model systems of interest in basic sciences and engineering and to better understand what happens in them.
Regarding the dissemination of culture, he is a member of the editorial board of five internationally indexed journals dedicated to the publication of research articles; he is also a member of a popular science journal and the editorial board of CBI of the UAM Iztapalapa Campus. He has been an advisor to several undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from different postgraduate programs. Professor Valdés is deeply interested in his students getting a good education and does his best to make it happen in every class.
