Professor Rubén Sahagún Angulo studied Industrial Design at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). He later obtained his Master's degree in Industrial Design at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He has taken courses at Harvard, MIT, TU Delft and the Polytechnic University of Valencia related to his field of study.

He is currently a Professor, Head of the Habitat and Design Area, and Head of the Ecodesign and Materialoteca Laboratory at the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, Mexico.

He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Mexican Association of Institutions and Schools of Industrial Design and Head of the Materialoteca DiSUR. His area of specialization is the relationship between Sustainability and Design.
