Professor Berthana María Salas Domínguez is a native of Mexico City. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus, a Master's degree in Industrial Design with a specialization in Ergonomics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a Ph.D. in Architecture, Architectural Design, from the same institution.

Her research areas are Ergonomics, Anthropometry, Disability, Accessibility, and Usability. She has developed industrial design projects applied to physical disability, especially Cerebral Palsy, considering ethnographic analysis and anthropometry to achieve a User-Centered Design.

She works in multidisciplinary teams generating specific research groups in biological areas, health and sciences, and arts for design. She has developed research projects on anthropometry and disability using three-dimensional systems.

She is part of the Laboratory of Tests and Simulators, where she develops research projects related to design, usability testing, ergonomics, packaging, and the development of materials that provide services to students, researchers, and the external community.

She is head of Area 1 - Education for Design.
