Professor Clara Castillo Lara holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), a Master's Degree in Comparative Criminal Systems, Social Problems, and Crime Prevention, with Honorable Mention from the University of Barcelona and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. She obtained a Master's Degree in Criminal Law, Constitution, and Rights from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. She holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Law. She also has a Civil and Family Law diploma from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Diploma in Contemporary Problems in Criminal Justice. Diploma in Human Rights and Vulnerable Groups. Diploma in Human Rights between the real and the possible. Diploma in Oral Litigation, Diploma in Human Rights and the Participation of Indigenous Women of the XXI Century, at the Azcapotzalco Campus of the UAM.
She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Sciences and Criminal Policy with Honorable Mention from the National Institute of Criminal Sciences, and in Public Law, Cum Laude from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
She was head of the Human Rights and Social Legal Alternatives Research Area. She was part of the First Committee of the Master's Degree in Law, as head of the area of knowledge Human Rights and Rights of Indigenous Peoples, of the Master's Degree. Subsequently, she held the position of Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Law at the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus.
She has been a professor at the National Institute of Criminal Sciences, at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, at the University of Tepeyac, and at the Human Rights Commission of Chilpancingo, Guerrero, among others.
Currently, she is a Professor in the Department of Law of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities of the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus; she is a Counselor in the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, as a representative of the professors of the Department of Law. She is part of the Human Rights and Social Legal Alternatives Research Area at the Azcapotzalco Campus of the UAM. She is a PRODEP profile and a member of the National System of Researchers CONACyT (SNI), Level I.
