Profile

Professor Sandra Amelia Martí is an Argentine-Mexican visual artist and designer. Master in Visual Arts from the San Carlos Academy of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Doctorate in Communication and Strategic Thinking at Centro Avanzado de Comunicación "Eulalio Ferrer". Author of numerous articles and prologues.

Among her convictions, she ventures for collective creative work, which is why she was the founder and member of the visual arts collective "Minas de Arte", with whom she generated exhibitions, actions, and various artistic events. She is currently the author of the nomadic performance called "Besadora de Ciudades". She researches topics about "Imaginaries and diverse plots between art, design, body and urban environment". She supports and encourages this search, participating in creative spaces, artistic activities, cultural management, publishing, teaching, and research.

Awards in contemporary art contests: Salón Vendimia in Museo Fader; Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno; Avon en el Arte Museo Timoteo Navarro, Tucumán; Avon en el Arte, Rosario; Museo Nacional de Buenos Aires and Centro Cultural Recoleta de Buenos Aires. Her pictorial work "Laguna de Huanacache", is part of the collection Arte de Nuestra América Haydé Santa María, at Casa de las Américas, Havana, Cuba. Performer at Museo del Chopo (UNAM), Museo de la Mujer (UNAM). Speaker at the World Design Capital 2018 Mexico City, Casa del Tiempo. In 2019 she was Special Guest at FAD, UNAM and Master Conference at FAD, U.N. Cuyo, Argentina.

From 2013 to 2015, she was Head of the Editorial Program of Sciences and Arts for Design, Xochimilco Campus, UAM, an institution where she is a Professor. She is a member of the Editorial Committee of the journal Diseño y Sociedad. She is co-founder of the Seminario de Investigación Artística de CyAD, a space that promotes the organization of reflections on gender, design, events, exhibitions, and publications.

Researcher in the area of Creative Processes and Communication in Art and Design, Department of Creative Synthesis, CyAD, Xochimilco Campus. Research project: "The dialectic between the city and production in art and design" (researcher on secondment, project approved by the Divisional Council of CyAD, Xochimilco Campus, UAM).
