Profile
Dr. Sergio Cámara Izquierdo is Full Professor of Political Economy in the Department of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus, where he has been Head of the Department of Economics (2018-2024), Head of the Research Area Society and Capitalist Accumulation (2013-2018) and Coordinator of the Curricular Axis of Political Economy (2010-2014).
He holds a PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from the National University ‘Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo’ of Peru. His research interests include applied political economy, especially the analysis of capitalist macroeconomic dynamics, and labour-value theory. He has published a total of 15 articles and 22 book chapters in Latin America, Europe and the United States and has coordinated 6 collective books.
