Profile
Professor Eduardo Rodriguez Martinez received the Master of Science degree in Information Science and Intelligence, and the Doctor of Science degree in Feature Extraction, in 2008 and 2012, respectively, from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electronics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus. His main lines of research are evolutionary computation, feature extraction, and pattern recognition, as well as applications in the field of robotics and in the design of brain-computer interfaces.
He has published at least five articles in indexed journals (JCR, SJR, ZBMATH, Latindex) and at least ten in refereed conference proceedings. He has graduated two master's degree students and ten bachelor's degree students.
He obtained the distinction of National Researcher, Level I, from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. He was Head of the Research Area in Instrumentation, Intelligent Systems, and Signal Processing from February 22, 2017, to February 20, 2018, and since 2019 has been the Coordinator of Studies of the Graduate Program in Optimization.
He has been a regular member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2010, where he has served as a reviewer for the journals IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. He has also served as Academic Advisor of the Student Branch of UAM Azcapotzalco Campus since 2020.
