Profile

Professor Jesús Eduardo Morales Barrera is a Full-Time Professor at the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences at the Xochimilco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM).

He has a Ph.D. in Animal Sciences from the Universidad de Colima, his Master´s in Animal Production and Health Sciences and his Bachelor´s in Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He is a National Researcher of the National System of Researchers and ratified the recognition of Desirable Profile by the Program for the Development of Teaching Personnel (PRODEP).

In order to keep up to date in his teaching training and provide quality education, he has made stays at the Center of Excellence in Poultry Science at Arkansas State University with training in poultry microbiology, at the Department of Animal and Poultry Science at the University of Guelph - Canada, at the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory System belonging to the University of California Davis and at the Module of Teaching and Diagnosis of Bovine Diseases - UNAM in the area of Pathology.

Within his work in teaching as a research professor, he contributes to the training of human resources at the undergraduate and graduate levels, the main lines of research that he cultivates are: Pathology and Diagnosis of Diseases of Veterinary Interest, Development of food from non-conventional resources, Microbiology and food safety.

He is responsible for the Clinical Analysis Laboratory of the MVZ Degree and is a member of the Commission for the Redesign and Distribution of Research and Teaching Laboratories.
