Profile

Professor Alejandra Montserrat Navarrete López studied chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. She received the University Merit Medal awarded to the best average of the generation.

Later, at the same institution, she completed her graduate studies; during this period, she obtained a mixed scholarship from Conacyt to conduct a research stay at the University of Alabama. After obtaining her Ph.D. she did a postdoctoral stay at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos. Later, she received a scholarship for a postdoctoral stay at the University of Torino. Back in Mexico, she did a postdoctoral stay at the Iztapalapa Campus of the UAM.

She has had a permanent position at the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus for the last three years. She has directed four undergraduate theses where she studies physicochemical properties of periodic systems and molecules using density functional theory. She belongs to the National System of Researchers, Level I.

She has exhibited her research work at international and national congresses. In the summer of 2018, she was a visiting professor at Sichuan University, China.
