Professor Miguel Angel Pérez Sandoval was born in Mexico City in March 1978. He graduated as an architect from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in 2002. He has participated in various social service projects in support of communities in the interior of the republic, mainly related to the conservation of architectural heritage, housing improvement, and urban image.

He has a Master's degree in architecture with a specialization in Monument Restoration from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, (UNAM) and in Innovative Media for Education from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores Monterrey, ITESM. He is currently a Professor at the Azcapotzalco Campus of the UAM attached to the Department of Research and Knowledge, with a seniority of 20 years. He was the coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from 2013 - 2017.

He participated as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of Architecture of the Ministry of Public Education SEP and the Association of Architecture Education Institutions of the Mexican Republic ASINEA, as well as the College of Architects of Mexico City CAM-SAM. Member and founder of the research group Aprendizaje en el Hábitat comunitario.

In 2019, he joined the Ph.D. in Architectural, Civil and Urban Heritage and Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona. He collaborates in the ARC lab belonging to the department of Architectural Representation ETSAB, where he experiments with BIM technologies for AR and VR virtual modeling and representation. Member of AWE Nite Barcelona. His research is mainly related to social service projects, restoration of monuments, online education, and emerging technologies and methodologies for teaching architecture. Co-author of articles published in conferences and journals such as CIST, HCI International, and Springer, among others.
