Profile
Professor Ernesto Vázquez holds a degree in physical engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus. He holds a Master's degree in biomedical engineering from the UAM Iztapalapa Campus. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas, El Paso College of Engineering, in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program. He is currently assigned to the communications area of the Electronics Department of the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus.
His knowledge and interest in areas of digital signal processing, instrumentation, and equipment, acoustic characterization of materials, and analysis of the inverse problem in acoustic reflectometry has allowed him to design and build engineering prototypes to evaluate the acoustic response of materials in the time and frequency domain. He has implemented algorithms to analyze the impulse response in cylindrical cavities and to determine the area as a function of distance to estimate obstructions.
He collaborates with the research area of acoustic analysis and design at Azcapotzalco Campus for conditioning, isolation, and noise measurement. He is co-author of the book "Circuitos eléctricos, práctica y teoría", and co-author of two patents, 309903 and 311422. He has led several integration projects with electronic engineering and physics students. He has presented engineering and research papers at national and international congresses. He was coordinator of engineering physics and divisional coordinator of teaching. He has participated in adapting, modifying, and accreditation of 10 engineering courses at the Azcapotzalco Campus.
