Professor Georgina López González holds a Ph.D. in History from the Colegio de México. Her research interests focus on political and legal institutions of the 19th century. She is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, and belongs to the National System of Researchers.

Her main research works include: La organización para la administración de la justicia ordinaria en el Segundo Imperio, edited by Colmex and UAM, in addition to several book chapters and articles in historical research journals such as Secuencia, Signos Históricos and Historia Mexicana, among others. She is currently conducting research on the Treasury Courts in the first half of the 19th century.
