Profile
Professor Luis Manuel Rodríguez Sánchez was born in May 1973, in Mexico City. He is a Professor of the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production, at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus. B.S. in Agronomy. Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. Xochimilco Campus, Mexico. Master's Degree in Agribusiness and Environmental Management. University for International Cooperation, San José, Costa Rica.
Teaching and research in agroecology, urban agriculture, and rural development, as well as diagnosis and evaluation of sustainability. He has been a consultant in several research projects of the Government of Mexico City and FAO related to urban agriculture and agricultural dynamics in the soil conservation of Mexico City.
Coordinator of the Agroecology line of the Sierra Nevada Research Program and has focused his work on creating and operating methodologies for the redesign of agricultural production systems under the approach of ecological intensification and participatory rural innovation. He collaborates with different organizations and production initiatives with Mexico, Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Mexico City farmers.
