Professor Javier Aldeco Ramírez studied a B.Sc. in Oceanology at the Escuela Superior de Ciencias Marinas of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, a M.Sc. in Marine Sciences (Physical Oceanography) at the Mazatlán Unit of the Instituto de Ciencias del Mar y Limnología of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences (Physical Oceanography) at the same institute in the Ciudad Universitaria Campus (CDMX).

He has worked for Proyectos Marinos, S.C., for two years, at the Secretary of the Navy for nine years, and at the UAM for 20 years. He participated in more than 30 oceanographic cruises, on national and foreign seas, and a lot of fieldwork.

He has participated in multiple research projects, for the public sector, and with the private sector. He has not ceased to publish the results of his work, both in scientific journals and dissemination, national and foreign. He has also participated in multiple congresses inside and outside the country. He was awarded the Gabino Barreda Medal for University Merit, for postgraduate studies, the annual Research Award of the UAM, and most of the time of his professional practice he have received economic incentives.
