Profile

Doctor Eduardo Arellano Méndez is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, in the Structures Area of the Materials Department. He teaches courses on reinforced concrete structures, prestressed concrete, and structural analysis workshop, among others, in the undergraduate, graduate, and diploma programs. Coordinator of the Laboratories of the Materials Department since 2013.

He studied Civil Engineering with Concentration Area in Structures, at the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus. He obtained his degree with the terminal project "Jacketing of concrete columns". Master's Degree in Structures at the Graduate Studies Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He obtained the degree with the thesis "Seismic vulnerability of the Roma neighborhood in the Federal District and Chilpancingo, Guerrero", Advisor: Dr. Hugón Juárez García. D. in Structural Engineering at the postgraduate program in Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus. Obtained the degree with the thesis "Seismic design of the lightened post-tensioned column-slab connection", Advisor: Dr. Oscar Manuel González Cuevas.

Acknowledgments: PRODEP (Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente, para el Tipo Superior), Recognition of the desirable profile until 2021. At UAM, he received an academic mention in 2013 for his Ph.D. thesis, "Seismic design of the post-tensioned lightened column-slab connection". University merit medal for obtaining the best grades in doctoral studies quarter 13-O.
