Professor Yadira Zavala Osorio received her B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, her M.S. degree in Engineering from the Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and her Ph.D. degree in Organizational Studies from the UAM, Iztapalapa Campus.
She is currently a Professor of the Systems Department at the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, where she joined in November 1998 as an assistant, later she started to collaborate as a part-time professor, and since then, she has taught several subjects such as Industrial Safety and Hygiene, Industrial Psychology, Industrial Organization, Project Planning and Execution Workshop, Decision Analysis I and II, Cost Engineering, among others. From 2008 to 2010, she was Academic Secretary of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division.
Also, from 2012-2013 she collaborated at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Aragón (UNAM) as Head of Industrial Engineering Career and until May 2017 she participated as a subject professor at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Aragón (UNAM).
Professor Zavala has participated as a synodal in degree exams of several students of the Master's Degree in Engineering of the UNAM and the Master's Degree in Organizational Studies of the Iztapalapa Campus.
In the professional field, she worked as an Industrial Engineer in the company called Grupo IMPRESSA and in GPI Mexico, whose main activity consisted in the elaboration of diagnostics and detection of opportunity areas; she participated in the development of goals and indicators of the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS), she was also part of the working group in the elaboration of plans for the performance evaluation of the personnel of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) and participated in the strengthening of the profile of the Ministry of Health.
She has collaborated in publications related to the challenges of knowledge societies, the development of technology and research on oil in Mexico, business competitiveness, and distance education. She has also participated in coordinating and teaching diploma courses on logistics and supply chains. Currently, her research is in two areas; the first is related to the impact of health and safety in organizations, and the second is regarding the analysis of organizational variables, particularly in higher education schools.
