Profile

M.Sc. Aniceto Casimiro Mendoza Ruiz is a Full-Time Full Professor at the Biology Department of the Biological and Health Sciences Division of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Iztapalapa. He belongs to the National System of CONACHYT Researchers as a Level I National Researcher (2009-2024).

He is a Professor with PRODEP profile recognition (formerly PROMEP) granted by the Undersecretary of Higher Education and Scientific Research (SESIC) of the SEP (since 2003-2024).

He has academic experience in the field of Mexican pteridophyte biology (anatomy, cultivation and propagation, reproductive biology, taxonomy and floristics), has published 70 articles in indexed journals, 5 books, 3 book chapters and 4 dissemination articles, as well The results of the investigations have been presented in different international, national and local academic forums in collaboration with the Pteridophyte Biology research group. Likewise, as a teacher he has taught more than 70 courses at the undergraduate level and 43 at the postgraduate level, he has directed 6 social services and 2 postgraduate theses, he has participated as an advisor in the tutoring committee of undergraduate and master's students.

He has also participated in the arbitration of various works for the Journals: American Fern Journal (USA), Revista de Biología Tropical (Costa Rica), Revista Científica UDO Agrícola (Venezuela), Acta Botanica Brasilica (Brazil), Polibotánica (Mexico), Boletín Científico Museo de Historia Natural (Colombia), Acta Botánica Computlense (España), Acta Botánica Mexicana (Mexico), Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad (Mexico)
