Profile
Professor Norma Ramos Ibáñez holds a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus, 1984-1988. She studied for a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, 1999-2000. Scholarship from CONACyT. And a Ph.D. in Sport and Health Sciences from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. 2003-2006. Scholarship from CONACyT.
She has been a professor at the UAM, Xochimilco Campus since 2008 in the Bachelor's Degree of Human Nutrition; Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition since 2014; Participation in two processes of modification of the plan and curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition (2008 and 2016); Coordination of the second process of accreditation of the program and curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Human Nutrition (2016-2017); and Responsible for the social service project of Integral Nutritional Intervention aimed at the university community from 2019 to date.
Member of the research area States and Health Services has received awards. Her lines of research are the Relationship of intra-abdominal adipose tissue with diet and physical activity; Evaluation of physical activity and its relationship with nutritional status in schoolchildren and adolescents; and the Measurement of energy expenditure with calorimetry in schoolchildren and adolescents.
She has presented more than 30 papers at national and international congresses. She has participated in 17 articles published in indexed journals, one book, and four book chapters. She is the advisor of more than 20 bachelor's theses, five master's theses, and two doctoral theses. Accredited tutor of the Master's and Doctoral Program in Medical, Dental, and Health Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She has participated in tutorial committees in the Master's Program in Nutrition Sciences of the Autonomous University of Morelos. Candidate to the National Research System 2018-2020. PRODEP profile by the Ministry of Public Education.
Co-conductor of the Nutritional Frequency program at UAM-radio 94.1 FM.
