Profile

Delia Montero Contreras is a professor at the Economics Department of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. She is a member of the National System of Researchers with a Level I. Doctorate in Economics from the School of Higher Studies of Latin America (IHEAL), Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III, France. She is a founding member and Head of the Research Area of Institutional Economics, State and Social Management attached to the Department of Economics and a founding member of the Water Network of the UAM.

She has coordinated several multidisciplinary projects mainly related to water and has also participated in the scientific council of the International Council for Canadian Studies as well as the L'Association Internationale des études québécoises and visiting professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

She currently coordinates the Mexican Network of Institutional Studies, her research work has focused on water policy and management. Her publications include two books: Instituciones y actores. Un enfoque alternativo para entender el consumo de agua embotellada en México, (2019), Ed UAM-Tirant Humanidades, Mexico, and Transnacionales, gobiernos corporativos y agua embotellada. El negocio del siglo XXI, (2015), Ediciones del libro and UAM, Mexico, 2015.

She has published several articles on water and institutions in various Mexican and foreign publications.
