Professor Servando Gutiérrez Ramírez has been with the Department of Sociology at the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus from 1995 to date. He is a member of the Mobility Scholarship Committee, General Rectory of UAM. Titular Representative of the Iztapalapa Campus (May 2020- To date). Member of the Mobility Scholarship Committee, General Rectory of UAM. Head Representative of the Iztapalapa Campus (September 2019- To date). Member of the General Rectory Committee on Institutional Image and Identity of the UAM (2018-2019).

He has been the Studies Coordinator for the Bachelor's Degree in Sociology (2013 to 2016). Founding member of the Transdisciplinary Program for Aerospace Studies and Developments (PROTEDA-UAM, 2012 to date). Head of the Research Area "Sociology of Culture" at the Iztapalapa Campus of the UAM (2012 to 2013). Former Director of a) Liaison with Political and Social Sectors; and b) Liaison with Educational Sectors, General Coordination of Liaison and Institutional Development, General Rectory of the UAM (2008-2011). Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus (1999-2008).

Doctor in Sociology from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, UNAM. Master in Demography from the Colegio de México A.C. B.A. in Sociology from the Azcapotzalco Campus of the UAM. Specialist in Telecommunications/ C.E.C.C y T. Wilfrido Massieu, Instituto Politécnico Nacional. His area of research is Sociology of Culture, with the following lines of research: Sociodemographic studies; Gender, sexuality, and reproductive health; and Culture.
