Professor María Irene Silva Silva received her undergraduate degree in Social Psychology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), her Master's degree in Social Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and her Ph.D. in Social Studies in Labor Studies from the UAM.
She has been a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana for 25 years, tutor and course designer in the Postgraduate Program in Public Policy and Educational Management at the Regional Cooperation Center for Adult Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (CREFAL) for two years.
She has been director of undergraduate theses at the Universidad Autónoma Indígena de México, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa and director of dissertations for the Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology at UAM. She has also been director of Master's Thesis in the Postgraduate Program in Public Policy and Educational Management at CREFAL.
Professor Silva is a Member of the Network in Social Representations (RENIRS), a Member of the Mexican Society of Social Psychology, A.C. (SOMEPSO), a Permanent Representative in the Committee of Community Psychosocial Assistance in the Secretariat of Civil Protection and Project Evaluator of the Financing Program for Social Assistance and Integration (PROFAIS) 2014-2018.
She participated in the Modification of the Curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology, at UAM.

1) Violence (in interpersonal relationships, in educational settings, in the workplace, in youth, in children, in men and women; in health and in older adults).
2) Mixed research methods (qualitative and quantitative).
