Profile
Professor Luis Miguel Villegas Silva was born in Mexico City. He studied Chemical Metallurgical Engineering at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He received a Master's degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Faculty of Sciences of UNAM.
He has been a Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Faculty of Sciences (UNAM), and at the Department of Mathematics of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). He made research stays at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Freiburg, and Greifswald in Germany, the Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the Institute of Mathematics University of Oslo, Norway, Department of Mathematics (Bogota) of the National University of Colombia.
He has published several books (some co-authored) on set theory, mathematical logic, and topological groups. He has also published numerous research articles (some co-authored) in specialized journals.
His areas of interest are set theory, mathematical logic, logic programming, and ferrous metallurgy. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus.
