Professor Carolina Tetelboin Henrion is a Chilean Mexican professor. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Iberoamerican University (Mexico), has a master’s degree in social medicine from the Universidad Autónoma metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus, (Mexico) and has a degree in Obstetrics and Child Care from the University of Chile.

She has been a Professor in Collective Health Sciences and Social Medicine in the Department of Health Care at UAM Xochimilco Campus, since 1991. At the undergraduate level she lectures in the interdivision Knowledge and Society module. She is an academic staff member of the master’s program in Social Medicine and the Ph.D. program in Collective Health Sciences, teaching social and health policies, and health systems and services. She has been the Coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Collective Health Sciences.

Since 2013, she has been the Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Health, problem" of the master’s Program in Social Medicine. She is a member of the National System of Researchers of the Mexico’s National Council of Humanities, Science and Technology (Conahcyt), since 1998, and has been academically recognized by the PRODEP.

She is a current member and has been the head of the State and Health Services research Area of the Department of Health Care, where she conducts research focusing on the transformation, political contexts, and social consequences of Latin American health systems, particularly in Chile and Mexico.

Since 2013, she has coordinated the working group on "Social Studies for Health" of the Latin American and Caribbean Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). She is a member of the Latin American Association of Social Medicine (ALAMES), the International Association of Health Policy, the Latin American Association for the Analysis of Health Systems (ALASS) and the Latin American Sociological Association (ALAS). She has various publications on these topics and participates in national and international academic events and university extension or diffusion, collaborating with various organizations, study centers, universities, and journals.
